How to start grounding yourself -Implement grounding rituals into your day.
Grounding rituals are a simple effective way to bring some pause into your day. They help us to create some calm, reflection and mindfulness. If you are finding yourself constantly reacting to situations then try implementing a grounding practice into your day. You can use them to start your day (perfect to get into the right mindset for the day ahead), when you are finding yourself in a hectic situation and need some respite and for any time that you are finding yourself getting a little too overwhelmed. Here are some ideas that I have found effective.
Earthing - go outside and place your feet on the ground, feel the earth beneath your feet, close your eyes and imagine roots flowing into the earth.
Mantras - I am connected to the earth. I am nature. I am grounded. I am aligned. I am grateful. I am blessed. I see abundance.
5 mins of quiet time. listening to ambient calming music. meditation. prayer. lighting a candle or incense. breathwork
Journaling - unpack and write down your thoughts to get a little clarity and to gain some perspective
Have a think about the things that help you to find some respite when you need to shut out the noise to get grounded. Write them down. You can ask yourself some self reflective questions. “What is going to help me get some pause into my day”. “What do I enjoy doing that helps me become more grounded”.
