Beginner Yoga Series (Foundations)
As part of my 200-hour yoga teacher training, I’m offering a gentle beginner yoga series for the community.
This is a relaxed, welcoming space to learn the foundations of yoga in a simple and supportive way—no experience needed and no pressure to “get it right.”
We move slowly through basic postures, stretches, breath awareness, and guided rest, with plenty of explanation along the way so you always know what you’re doing and why.
This series is also a space for curiosity and enjoyment—because learning something new doesn’t need to feel serious or intimidating.
What This Series Is About
This isn’t about flexibility, performance, or keeping up.
It’s about:
learning the basics of movement and breath
understanding your body in a simple way
building confidence step by step
slowing down without pressure
creating inner connection
Each class builds gently, helping you become more familiar with foundational yoga shapes and how to move with awareness and support.
What to Expect in Each Class
Step-by-step guidance
Beginner-friendly movement (no prior experience needed)
Gentle breath awareness
Options and variations throughout
Time to rest and pause whenever needed
A relaxed, supportive environment
Space for curiosity, questions, and exploration (I will answer as best I can with where I am with my teacher journey and if I don’t know the answer I will find out!)
You don’t need to be flexible or fit any particular idea of what yoga “should” look like. This is about meeting your body where it’s at.
Don’t worry if you miss a class in the series! There will be future offerings as I complete my training.
A Gentle Introduction to Traditional Yoga
Alongside movement and breath, you’ll also be gently introduced to some traditional aspects of yoga, such as simple breath practices and optional sound (like chanting Om).
Everything is offered in an accessible way, with full choice to participate or simply observe.
Who This Series Is For
This series is especially suited to you if you:
Are completely new to yoga
Feel unsure or intimidated by regular classes
Prefer a slower, more guided approach
Want to understand the basics clearly
Are looking for a supportive, down-to-earth space
If you’ve ever thought “I’m not sure yoga is for me”—this is exactly the kind of place to begin.
My Approach
As I move through my 200-hour yoga teacher training, this series is part of both my learning and my offering to the community.
My approach is heart-led, supportive and relaxed. I feel genuinely passionate about this offering, and the wonderful thing is, we will grow and learn together!
What Do I Need to Bring?
Wear some warm clothing (layers work well) , a cushion, blanket and your yoga mat (there are a couple of spare ones at the hall) plus a drink bottle with water and a koha for each session for the use of the hall. If you also happen to have yoga blocks and a yoga strap bring those too, but don’t worry if you don’t have those.
There is no pressure here. No expectation to get it right, keep up, or do anything perfectly.
You’re invited to explore, move gently, take breaks, laugh if you need to, and simply see how it feels.
